Basic PXE question

Hi I have a well established and stable linux home network.
All components have static IP addresses.

I've been researching PXE install and have a couple of suitable non assigned old PC's which are BIOS compatable with PXE booting to exeriment with.

So here is my "basic" question:-

* As I must have a DHCP server on my network would it be in order to simply enable the DHCP server option on my Netgear DG834g router

** If so where should the pxelinux.0 information go?

E.G.

subnet x.x.x.x netmask x.x.x.x {
range x.x.x.x y.y.y.y;
filename "pxelinux.0";}

Everything I've read indicates that it should go in the /etc/dhcp3/dhcpd.conf file... but as I said I use static IP's

You need a DHCP server, using your router for that will not be sufficient. Just set the DHCP up on the same box that does all the other PXE stuff.
That you use static IPs on your network is irrelevant for the PXE function, just set up the DHCP server not to use the range of IPs you have already in use.
