ls: error while loading shared libraries: librt.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I think it is something wrong with my .bash_profile, could you check and see whether something is wrong, it works fine with the default .bash_profile.

Hi I found whats wrong,

This is the line in my .bash_profile that’s causing the error message :
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1; export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL

I changed it to :
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.6.18; export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL

It is working as usual.

Thanks to anyone who looked at this.
