Bad Mac Address
Hi,
I've just installed RedHat 4 update 4 on VMWare. I installed VMWare Tools to add a network adapter. When I restart, however, I get a message "Device eth0 has a different MAC address than expected. Ignoring".
I found in the Network Device Control a place where eth0 was bound to a specific MAC address. If I deselect the specified MAC address, reselect the checkbox to bind to a specific address, and hit probe it finds the same MAC address that was originally specified.
If I deselect the bind to a specfic address check box and reboot, it sends a message vmxnet device eth0 does not appear to be present, delaying initiation.
Does anyone have experience or suggestions?
