Backup system suggestions

I am currently running a Dell PowerEdge 2850 under a hardware RAID 5 setup using CentOS 6.2. There is two databases I need to backup daily externally in case of a catastrophic failure of the array. What I have found so far as a compatible internal backup for this system is:

DELL PowerVault 110T SDLT 320 Internal Tape Drive
http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna...&sku=440-10582

One databases is Berkeley and the other is MySQL. I simple use mysqldump and tar of the Berkeley databases and I would like to just simply back them up to the tape drive daily. This way if there is a failure, I can just simple rebuild the system and extract the backup or if there is a DB crash I only have to backup one day. Any suggestion or anyone have had any experience with this tape drive that can make any comments or suggestion of any better ways to do this? This server is in a data center where space is rented so it does need to be internal hardware.

You could put together a script using tar and set to run via cron.

The application that I am running requires to be taken offline manually currently. This is something that will be implemented later on.
