backup


Hi,
If i need to take a backup in a loaded system,how i should take it?Normally backup is taken when the server is less loaded.

i mean nice -15 nohup "backup cmd".

i mean i start the backup with low cpu access.

other settings related to user from where i give the backup command?

You cannot make a backup from a living system. Otherwise you can look for different solutions on the net.

that is true but there are enterprise backup solution that take snapsot.Then i run the client side with nice and nohup.
or you can use lvm snapshot and then use nice and nophup in backup.
