Avoid default user creation after os install

Hi Team,

It may stupid question.

Install os with only root user.

Currently I am trying to install Cent OS/Redhat with server with gui.

It asking us to create another user but i do not want to create any user apart from root. I must have to use server with gui.

Please help.

Trying in Redhat 7.2 and centos 7.2

Thanks,

If you want to use the server only with root, then login as root and not with user account.
By default, a user account is created.

My recollection is that the install wants a root password, and to create a non-privileged user. Correct?
Not having a non-privileged user is probably unwise.
That said, after completing the installation, login as root and userdel the non-privileged user.

Normally, you should not work as root, due to security reasons.

maybe op wants an OEM install, where the end user can create their own account?
i've done this with ubuntu once.

on second thought, probably not with redhat.

Thanks,
Just go ahead create that user account, now-a-days GUI installation won't allow you to proceed without creating sudo account.
After installation you can setup root password from 'sudo' account then delete the sudo account if everything else works fine as root.

Ordinarily, the install creates this user as a member of the wheel group, such that this user can become root by means of sudo su, and then makes it impossible for the actual "root" user to log in at all.

I personally think that this is the safest arrangement.
