Automatically server goes in a hang mode and every time i need to reboot the server.


Automatically server goes in a hang mode and every time i need to reboot the server.

Hence please find the /var/log/messages

Please help me out to understand what went wrong why the server getting hung.

Automatically server getting shutdown, without any OS abnormality.

In one of my production server its getting shutdown automatically, but i have not found any abnormality in the logs, hence please suggest any tool is available to analysis the /var/log/messages clearly. Example: For tcpdump we have wireshark, like wise i am looking.

initiating server shutdown -h now is one , server forced shutdown is another.

It is random or on load basis ? coz it might be some heavy dust on CPU heatsink and thermal shutdown enabled in BIOS .

installing lmsensors can be useful here .
