autofs not staring


I have configured autofs for NFS share. when I am trying to start autofs daemon its not staring and getting below error,

[root@localhost /]# /usr/sbin/automount -f -v
/usr/sbin/automount: test mount forbidden or incorrect kernel protocol version, kernel protocol version 5.00 or above required.

[root@localhost /]# /etc/init.d/autofs start
[FAILED]

kernal : 2.6.21.7-2.fc8xen
autofs version : autofs-5.0.1-0.rc2.183.el5

did you modprobe in the autofs module?

I have done modprobe autofs also, but still same problem.

[root@localhost ~]# modprobe autofs

[root@localhost ~]# modprobe -l | grep autofs
/lib/modules/2.6.21.7-2.fc8xen/kernel/fs/autofs/autofs.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.21.7-2.fc8xen/kernel/fs/autofs4/autofs4.ko

[root@localhost ~]# lsmod | grep autofs
autofs 25472 0

[root@localhos ~]# /usr/sbin/automount -f -v
/usr/sbin/automount: test mount forbidden or incorrect kernel protocol version, kernel protocol version 5.00 or above required.
