Well first let me correct the error in my previous post.. I should have said
firestarter not
fwstarter, I don't know what I was thinking..
(almost 5:00, time to go home)
Linpus lite is Linux with a simplified interface so that your netbook will work sort of like an appliance without giving you all sorts of extra things to play with and helps prevent you from getting to things you could modify to 'break' the system.
Your best source for Linpus support is probably the AspireOne user forums.

You can install other versions of Linux on your netbook if you so desire.. I have the AspireOne with the 160GB Hard Drive that came with Windows.. I shrunk Windows, partitioned the drive and loaded Linux on it, leaving space so I can try as different Linux distro as well if I want. I haven't booted windows on it since the day I loaded Linux though so that space is just wasted.. Since the netbooks are so new, they do require a bit of manual work and configuration, to get most Linux distros working 100% on them. That might be a bit beyond your skill level at this point. Don't rule it out entirely, but put that idea on the shelf for a little while till you get more comfortable with Linux.
In the mean time you may want to do a little more with your netbook, you could start by looking at this list of
30 cool acer Aspire One hacks a mix of software and hardware modifications for the Aspire One.
Enabling Advanced mode (the first hack) is one of the first things most Aspire One users do.. I believe that will allow you to get to the software installation interface as well so you can install things like firestarter from the add/remove software menu.
Sorry I can't tell you much specifically about Linpus Lite. I have never used it.
Here is a list of how-to's for installing different versions of Linux on the Acer AspireOne for when you get a bit more familiar with Linux, and possibly more adventurous. There is no rush or reason you should replace Linpus, but one thing you will learn about the Linux community is that it's all about choice and preferences. We have many different Distros to CHOOSE from, and We all have our PREFERRED distribution that we like to work with. One question you never want to ask in a Linux forum is "What distro should I install" because we will all recommend our personal favorite..
