APT-GET without human intervention - howto?

I need to be able to install packages without using the command line, so I need apt to answer all needed questions.

I tried using:

apt-get install --assume-yes --force-yes -y -qq {$package}

but some packages require further answer to questions and i want apt to answer the default option. is that possible? When those windows appear, asking yes or no to use one option, I need it to answer automatically.

I hope I made myself clear.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The 'yes/no' applies to 'apt' asking you questions, not the ncurses menus which may pop up via the preinstall and postinstall scripts. Unfortunately the install script questions aren't only yes/no types - sometimes it is a string and sometimes a selection.

What is preventing you from using the command line?

I was talking about the ncurses menus. but i have found a solution. I need to export an option with value = noninteractive. apt will process the installation of the packages selecting the default answer in the ncurses menus. problem solved. thanks anyway.
