apache startup error after deleting up apache log files

Hi
i Stopped down the apache server then i deleted of all log of apache rm -rf /etc/httpd/logs/*.But when i start up the service its throwing up error . Once again i moved out the logs to /etc/httpd/logs directory it gets start up ..I want to delete of my apache logs everyday .can any guys help me in these issue ..

Are you sure about the logs location?
It should be in /var/log/httpd.
Anyway, what was the error you got? Unless there were subdirectories under the above path, apache can recreate the logfiles from scratch, so there should be no problem.

Make sure the user that Apache runs under has write permissions on the log directory
