Apache rewrite rules

Hi everyone,

I am migrating my website to another server. The old one was centos 6.7 the new one is debian 8. I use on the both sides exactly the same services like apache2, php 5, mysql 5.6 with exactly the same configuration parameters. I have strong rewrite rules on my website (.htaccess). Without this rules the website does't work. For some reasons rewrite rules don't work on the new website.

Do you have maybe any idea what can be the reason?

Thank you in advance!

version differences for apache, php, mysql?
something handled differently on debian than on centos? yes, that's very foggy, but you haven't given us anything to work with - preferably the .htaccess files in question and corresponding error logs & messages.

Check if you have:
Code:
AllowOverride All
inside the <Directory /var/www>...</Directory> stanza
Change /var/www to whatever you DocumentRoot is (/var/www is the default for Debian)
