apache / httpd.conf question

I just installed apache2 on a debian box and am trying to configure apache for use w/ the auth_kerb module. The directions I'm following say to add certain lines to httpd.conf. I have an apache2.conf file w/ data in it but httpd.conf is blank. It's been a while since I last used apache but from what I remember, httpd.conf was the programs main configuration file. What's the deal w/ that?

Debian named the Apache2's config file apache2.conf instead of httpd.conf.

That's more logical, from my point of view.
