apache - file upload

Server version: Apache/2.2.15 (CentOS)

I'm using the following script:
http://uber-uploader.sourceforge.net/

...which posts chunks of a file to a perl scripts and slowly writes it to the server.

this works fine for small file uploads but if i try a 999M file ... it gets to 99% (i check the temp upload file on the server and it does in fact reach 999M in size), but then this happens:

...The page stops showing new activity but the status bar on the browser shows it's still refreshing/loading as if the upload is still continuing but this is not the case as there is nothing left to post and 999M of data are already on the server(it's doing this instead of redirecting to success page)

last note, i did not have this problem in centos 5. so i'm assuming it's eiher a problem with the newer version of apache or the new os.

i've been at this for 2 days now...i'm going insane...any help would be dearly appreciated.

cheerios

Did you check the Apache and system logs? Also check if the user that runs Apache has write privileges on destination folder... you can try with "chmod 777 /path/to/destination/" for starter and later make appropriate security adjustments...

thanks mate I'm fairly familiar with linux but I just can't get my head around this.

folders are writable...as I said the file is getting uploded...every single byte of it...but once the upload finished, the page continues loading instead of redirecting to the success page.

i have apache set to debug logging and php to E-ALL but there neither are throwing out ANY errors. i'm starting to pull my hair out of my head i know it's gonna end up being something silly.
