Apache doesn't show my webpage but just the /

I installed apache on my debian squeeze box. It seems to be configured correctly but only shows "Index of /" with Name Last Modified Size and Description columns below. It shows no files. Any ideas of what i may have done wrong in the configuration?
Thanks,

It sounds like you are seeing a directory listing. Could you post you httpd.conf file and any virtual hosts. And, explain what you are expecting to see e.g. index.php
