Question Apache 2 to handle mobile sites

I was just wondering what the best approach is to allow mobile device sites on my web server is?

Its an apache 2 server running on Centos and I am just very curious as to how to best present a site just in standard output for a mobile site, ie no server side programming or scripts (but would like to do some eventually).

I actually have someone asking for someone on his development team and would love to be that person with that attribute lol.

I appreciate as always any reples, as I am a bit confused about this particular area of markup with mobile device Internet browsers.

Regards,
Jeremy.

Sorry I havent replied to this.

Yes they do actually, think it might be to do with the fact that most (if not all the network/standalone apps for phones) are almost always Java based.

But for actual WAP based browsers (dont think that includes the newer smart phones like the iPhone, HTC phones etc) which are merely all HTML mobile based (so they dont follow that rule I dont think).

I got the addtype added to apache anyways as follows for just as a reference off another forum (sorry I cant remember where but this is all they said to include for WAP based client scripts etc):

Quote:
AddType application/vnd.wap.wmlscriptc .wmlsc .wsc
AddType text/vnd.wap.wml .wml
AddType text/vnd.wap.wmlscript .ws .wmlscript
AddType image/vnd.wap.wbmp .wbmp
Thats all you need to include to allow for actual wap based html pages and scripts etc, havent tried it on an emulator though of a wap based browser, but should be interesting to see if these work.

Thanks for that reply though and apologies on my slow reply lol, just been very busy lately, but thank you non the less,
Jez
