Anyone here have experience with xen virtualization?
 

Before asking any question,i would like to know first is here anyone experienced with xen.Or if someone could post a link to tutorial which explain xen from a to z.

have a fair ammount of xen experience. I have been running production servers with xen on debian for about 4 years. I'm now starting to head down the citrix xenserver path. It would be difficult to describe xen a to z but if you had some specific questions we could probably help.

Well i don't request anything special,just a few basic questions.
My host will be centos 5 64bit,which have xen on yum.So i will install xen by command yum install xen.
Let say i want to create virtual machine with 512 mb of ram,1 ghz cpu,1000 bandwidth and 10 gb of space and with dedicated ip adress.How do i that and how do i connect iso image of guest operating system?And how do i connect then to that guest machine?Also what bothers me is nameserver domain usualy require 2 ip,will it be bad idea if i put ns1 and ns2 to same ip?Or maybe i could improvise by putting ns1 to virtual machine ip and ns2 to host nameserver.In shortly question is how to set up best dns on virtual machine with one ip.

By ISO image, do you mean an image of the install medium? If so, I generally build Xen guests from an ISO of the RHEL DVD. Are you creating the guest from the commandline or using the virt-manager GUI tool?

If the latter, an option on the 2nd or 3rd page when creating the guest will let you choose the drive or ISO image to boot from to do the install.

When specifying nameservers, there's nothing that states that you must use 2. You can use one with no problems. ISPs and such generally provide 2 for a certain amount of redundancy and load balance.

Yes iso image since i access server over ssh/command line.Yes nameservers with one ip will probably work,only what bothers me is dns report and red errors.So instruction which i need is for install over ssh/command line.And also i forgot to ask can be memory size be changed on active guest.

Yep, memory size can be changed. I have never done it while the guest wsa active though. Id feel safter stoping the VS and making the memory change and then starting it back up.

Ok is there any quick tutorial about xen and about what i just wrote?Or i will need spend days and days just to learn basics.
