Alternatives to X -query thru XDMCP
Hi,
We have about 10 thin clients (Linux Cent OS) connecting thru XDMCP to a central Cent OS
server running Gnome Desktop.
We use this as an alternative to Windows PC's, running Thunderbird, Firefox and Libreoffice. Done for many years now.
The network is 1 Gigabits switches and network-cards.
After upgrading the Cent OS server from 6.x to 7.5 using Gnome 3, it runs a lot more slower than before. Well Cent OS 6.x with Gnome 2 wasn't slow at all, compared.
I've tuned the server with more cpu's and ram, and even used iperf to see if there's a bandwith problem. Everything looks nice, I just think Gnome 3 is slower than Gnome 2.
Is there a better way instead of using X -query thru XDMCP to the server ?
Regards.
