First, you're saying you're moving to x
86 based systems?? You're going FROM 64 bit *TO* 32 bit??? Very strange, and more so considering the latest versions of RHEL don't even support 32 bit architecture. Secondly, you tell us nothing about what these servers are actually DOING. How many cores and how much resources will depend on what the server does...support 1,000 users for file and print is far different than supporting 1,000 users with a huge web site and a database back-end.
Talk to your salespeople, since if you're moving to RHEL, you need to
PAY FOR IT.
