Add Hotspare to existing meta device
 

Hi,

I need to add a new raid device as a hot spare or how can i add a hot spare to a existing meta device.

How is your RAID set up at this time?

Is it a hardware RAID or a software RAID?

If it's a hardware RAID, what hardware? AMCC/3Ware? LSI?

If it's a software RAID, what package did you use to build it?

Hi,

I use software raid, and created with the help of mdadm. Now I created the meta device mdadm -C /dev/md5 -n 3 -l 5 /dev/sd{a,b,c}

So in this there is no hotspare, now I need to add a hotspare for this meta device. Is it possible ?
