Hi,
I've installed bugzilla( ver 2.22) on RHEL 4 server machine..
bugzilla is installation path /var/www/html/bugzilla.
Apache(vr 2.0), postgresql (vr 7.4.8), sendmail (vr 8.13),mutt (vr 1.4.1)..are used to configur the bugzilla. Now I'm able to access the bugzilla site by typing http://localhost/bugzilla
Now how can i access this bugzilla site from linux client machine..I tried by giving http://<bugzilla-serverip>/bugzilla.......but it didn't work..
What error comes up when you try to access the server from another client? Does the server only have 1 ip that is serving web pages? Does it serve out more than 1 webpage?
I imagine that httpd.conf would be a good place to start to look for problems. Maybe try telnet to the ip on port 80 to see if you even get a response.
Hi,
That was the problem with the proxy-settings.It was blocking the port 80 thats why from client machines i was not able to view the bugzilla site.
Now a new problem! When i tested bugzilla by creating a new account. First i gave my G-mail id & it worked fine( i got the bugzilla password in my g-mail account). But when i give my company id its getting queued up in the mailqueue. Its not going out properly?. What can be the problem ?
Gmail uses fewer rules than most corporate systems when it comes down to determine whether emails are legitimate or not.
If you have configured bugzilla to use sendmail the email enveloppe will contain a sender like "bugzilla-daemon@myhost.mydomain.com". Gmail might be tempted to send this to the spam folder where the corporate server will just refuse delivery entirely.
To fix this you must change the bugzilla configuration to specify a valid email that bugzilla will use wneh writing the email enveloppe.
Hi ,
The bugzilla server machine does not contain any valid mail account in it.But when i try to send mails from that machine as root or any user person to my G-mail/ Yahoo/ Rediffmail id it is going properly. But whenever i try to send to our company mail id username@companyname.com its not working. the mails are not even reaching the Mail server. its just queued up in the /var/spool/mqueue...
What could be the problem.please help me in this ?
I tried what you said, but still the same old problem. I changed the "mail-delivery-method" to "smtp" & "smtpserver" to my mail server address. The bugzilla mails will reach the mail server & gets queued up. But if i change mail-delivery-method => sendmail & smtpserver => mailserver then mails other than company mails are going outside. if i give gmail/ yahoo/ rediff its working fine.
There are some users in the company who have company mail id (external valid mail id), but not configured with the internal mail server. So that they are checking their mails directly from internet. But even for them the mails are getting queued up.
if i use smtp option i get invalid domain name in the maillog. Is it necessary to have a DNS server for this feature?
Can you paste your email headers as they are received from gmail?
I have seen some of the default headers in there and some settings need to be adjusted through the admin interface in bugzilla to specify what email address to use as the sender. Ensure the bugzilla system uses a valid email address for your business. Even after you have changed the setting you must also change some files manually that contain hardcoded references to "bugzilla-daemon@whatever" email. Look here in your bugzilla files: template/en/default/account/password/
