Greetings,

My redhat server (hdd 25 gb, ram 768 mb) running squid 2.7

I set up 15 gb as follows cache:

#Default:
# cache_dir ufs /var/spool/squid 15000 16 256

15000mb too much?, what do you recommend for cache performance.

I noob sorry.

Hi there,

The default size for squid cache under /var/squid/cache is 100 MB. If your server is used heavily for web request then you can go with max of 2-3 GB and I guess that will be more than enough. 15 GB is too much.
