Hi,

Can any one tell me please, what is the deamon of linux login prompt.

This is interesting...

I ran ps -e and found:
2867 tty6 00:00:00 agetty
22245 tty7 01:03:44 X
22924 tty8 00:30:24 X

Then I went to tty6 (ctrl-alt-F6) and logged in as root.
Now I get this:
mherring@ath:~$ ps -e|grep tt
2867 tty6 00:00:00 bash
22245 tty7 01:03:46 X
22924 tty8 00:30:25 X

Note that the PID stayed the same, but the name changed from "agetty" to "bash". When I use the terminal emulator from within one of the X sessions, ps -e just shows (in my case) "Konsole".

The answer to your question? I'm not sure....but this should give you some leads.
