a second webserver on the same box?

Is it possible to have several webservers running on the samecomputer server?

I thought at first, yes: as long as they don't use the same port.
is that a valid thought?

So, the default port of 80 could expect the usual service from the main webserver, while clients wanting service from the second webserver, would go to (say) port 800, by visiting http://www.mydomain.com:800/?
