A record currently not present


i'm using nsd3 on debian 5

what i want to know, how do i not have this output when i queried mydomain.com
Code:
# host mydomain.com
mydomain.com A record currently not present
# host -t mx mydomain.com
mydomain.com       	MX	mail.mydomain.com
i believed that i'm supposed to have the output like this
Code:
mydomain.com has address 200.70.100.140
mydomain.com mail is handled by 0 mail.mydomain.com.

Looks to me like your missing an A record for your domain.
