A cronjob to run yum -y update daily, good idea?

If I set a cronjob to run yum -y update daily, is that agood idea?

Or is is best to run that manually?

TIA

I'm assuming the command just refreshes the local database, right?

I'd say no problem, unless you have some specific need not to automatically have it that way.

Indeed, something I installed in the past automatically installed a cronjob to update apt in the same way. It's quite convenient.

Unfortunately I recently did a fresh OS install on one of my systems and it no longer exists there. Does anyone have an idea what package could've provided that?
