550 no rdns entry for

Hi,

I have sendmail server, I am able to send mail to all domain but from one domain i am getting bounce mail with 550 No RDNS entry for xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx .

This xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is public ip is use for firewall outbound traffic my mail server domain public ip is different.

The firewall ip is not having RDNS.

how to resolve this issue.

i am hoping a lot from this forum.

Thanks

It's possible the mail server you are sending to does not accept mail from a IP with no reverse. Seems uncommon but in this day and age with the amount of spam happening I think there's a high probability this is the case.

Thanks for your reply.

there mail server does not accept my mail, so what should i do to there mail server accept my emails.

my firewall ip which does not have RDNS. It will be possible can i change this ip and replace it with my mail server public ip.

Does it work and other mail server will accept my emails after this.

Or there is any other way to resolve this problem.

I waiting for your reply.

Thanks again

when you say "firewall IP", "change this ip and replace it with my mail server public ip" This does not make sense to me.

You posted earlier one domain is refusing email because the mail server you are sending from does not have a reverse lookup. I'm assuming you are running the mail server in this case you need to contact your ISP who owns the IP and ask them to put in a PTR record for that IP to you mail servers domain. This should fix it.
