[NEWBIE] Question regarding postfix / dovecot regarding usernames

Hi to all!

I install postfix mail server and everything works ok, but now I've became lost. I want users to receive/send emails via Windows Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird. How do I configure pop3 dovecot MUA and how do I enable username aliases in ubuntu server? For instance, user John Doe has username "johndo", but if I add this user, his email becomes "johndo@domain.com". Instead of created email I would like to have email address in fashion "name.surname@domain.com", so "john.doe@domain.com". How do I achieve this?

Sincerely yours,
Marko
