*some* mail not delivered, missing postfix/local ?

One of my new users here is not getting the mail he sends from his gmail account. I've tried to duplicate the error but of course I get the mail just fine.

Here's an example of a successful delivery from my gmail to my local account...
Apr 15 14:39:59 mfilter postfix/smtpd[30983]: 271BD11E0003: client=localhost[127.0.0.1]
Apr 15 14:39:59 mfilter postfix/cleanup[31035]: 271BD11E0003: message-id=<0016363b87a848100d04679c46c9@google.com>
Apr 15 14:39:59 mfilter postfix/qmgr[2184]: 271BD11E0003: from=<aaaaa@gmail.com>, size=1857, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
Apr 15 14:39:59 mfilter postfix/smtp[31093]: DC99211E0002: to=<aaaa@astro.cornell.edu>, relay=127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]:10025, delay=0.34, delays=0.12/0/0/0.22, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (250 OK, sent 49E629FE_16160_4542_1 271BD11E0003)
Apr 15 14:39:59 mfilter postfix/local[30984]: 271BD11E0003: to=<aaaaa@astro.cornell.edu>, relay=local, delay=0.05, delays=0.05/0/0/0.01, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered to command: /usr/bin/procmail -a "$EXTENSION")
Apr 15 14:39:59 mfilter postfix/qmgr[2184]: 271BD11E0003: removed

And here's his unsuccessful attempt to do the same thing from his gmail account...
Apr 14 23:45:49 mfilter postfix/smtpd[16616]: BF5AF11E0001: client=rv-out-0506.google.com[209.85.198.228]
Apr 14 23:45:49 mfilter postfix/cleanup[16908]: BF5AF11E0001: message-id=<91fc3c1e0904142045t58859b30y33991d1e8bf650f9@mail.gmail.com>
Apr 14 23:45:50 mfilter postfix/qmgr[2184]: BF5AF11E0001: from=<bbbbbb@gmail.com>, size=19195, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
Apr 14 23:45:50 mfilter postfix/smtp[16885]: BF5AF11E0001: to=<bbbbbb@astro.cornell.edu>, relay=127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]:10025, delay=0.65, delays=0.56/0/0/0.09, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (250 OK, sent 49E5586E_16160_133_1 )
Apr 14 23:45:50 mfilter postfix/qmgr[2184]: BF5AF11E0001: removed

It looks ok but there is no email actually delivered to the inbox.

Notice that the unsuccessful attempt does not have a postfix/local after the postfix/smtp. Also the successful attempt starts with client=localhost[127.0.0.1].

Any ideas?

thanks in advance,
cheers,
Tom

Yes, but I also see that for your mailbox, the message is being delivered to Procmail and for the other user it is not. What is your procmail doing with that message? Is it putting the message somewhere special? And check the "bbbbb" user's mail spool file under /var/spool/mail/bbbb and see what's in there (if anything at all).

Well I discovered that this particular email was quarantined by the PMX filter I have running on the box because of an attachment it had.

So false alarm there, although I don't think I'm done with this issue yet. There are been a few complaints regarding missing emails from gmail to our local postfix server.

If I find something else out I'll post it here.

thanks for your help,
cheers,
Tom
