xinetd questions/pop3
Hello All another newbie here with a few questions about xinetd. I have a pop3 server running and I want no clear text
transmission and also a secure transfer from client to server and server to client. I have xinetd running ipop3 and pop3.

I have read that xinetd uses ssl, now does that mean that my text transmission is encrypted? I thought that in order to have encrypted text I would have to deal with certificates. How safe is my pop3 server just running xinetd is there more that should be done? Is there a way to test to see if the text are encrypted remotely (I have looked into sniffer programs but those programs do not work from a remote location)? Any advise would be appreciated.

use pop3s OR u can use imap/imaps.

POP3 (ipop3) talks cleartext only.
