who command shows me and root???????

Just this morning i got an error when trying to open Mozilla that my system is read only! I check dmesg and i got an error hda is read only. I did not play with permissions or anything like that!

So i run " who"
and it showed my name and root .! ?

The only logs i dont underastand are these :

Oct 15 11:17:01 PenguinGR /USR/SBIN/CRON[4256]: (root) CMD ( run-parts --report /etc/cron.hourly)
Oct 15 11:29:54 PenguinGR -- MARK --
Oct 15 11:39:01 PenguinGR /USR/SBIN/CRON[26262]: (root) CMD ( [ -d /var/lib/php4 ] && find /var/lib/php4/

why cron was working ? It was in my runlevel but i have never set it up .

I did a reboot and everything was ok.

what was the problem?
