You probley said HACKING! well hacking is not bad. you see there are 2 main types of hackers there are Black Hat Hackers. they are the ones that hack illegally the brake in to some one elsis pc and well you know the rest. But a white hat hacker are like the jedi i cyberspace they track down black hats and get rid of them. nothing a white hat does is illegal. also a White hat can be hired to test out the security and if there are any bugs they fix them or they can be hired to protect a ceratin server. so do you see black bad white good. so all im asking is for a good tutorial so i may become a white hat hacker and please dont give me www.happyhacker.org i dont wont to know how to hack with dos. this is all legal white hacking is not a crime so dont try to close this post!

and get yourself some books on coding and networks and coding networks. What sort of hacking are you after? that will help narrow down the search for resources.
And yeah, we know all about the difference between hacking and cracking. No need to be so defensive about it
Well my last post i didn't speify it was white and it was closed. i was thinking along the lines of security testing and i am currently looking for some bash programing tutorail but am having no luck
also a White hat can be hired to test out the security
You mean penetration testing?
and if there are any bugs they fix them or they can be hired to protect a ceratin server.
Definately. Cuz Ceratine seems good for women, or so I've read. Valuable asset indeed.
so do you see black bad white good.
You forgot grey hats and of course: tinfoil hats :-]
this is all legal white hacking is not a crime so dont try to close this post!
Just because *you* say it is doesn't mean it is.
Well my last post i didn't speify it was white and it was closed.
No, your last post was closed because you explicitly mentioned getting into the remote and envisioned doing all sorts of retalliatory stuff.
so all im asking is for a good tutorial so i may become a white hat hacker
IMHO anyone starts off with what basically is an itch to scratch, curiosity: so how does that work? What's behind that wall? What happens if I do this? Can I make this do that? (where "that" usually is Something Completely Different the developers didn't mean it to do). To satisfy that curiosity you'll have to understand what you're looking at and that basically means research: searching for stuff (docs, tools, code) and experimenting with it. If over time you find you take pride in being autonomous in finding and figuring out stuff and progress you may *find* yourself to be a hacker (kinda like Byrne says: "well..., how did I get here?").

While the Security references may seem a weird kind of place to start at first glance it really isn't because IMHO "being a hacker" is a natural progression of events that lead up to something. It isn't a forced theoretical study or a certification. It's more like an attitude and an analytical and creative state of mind. Just ask yourself the right questions.
well acualy i know a lot about the net how i works ect. the one thing i realy would like to learn is Bash not the command the language becuse i still have know luck finding anything. also i have been in to hacking for a while wargames mostly. i know only how to hack in dos (lame!) but i have found a document for linux. one problem it is about 6 years old! so i need a updated version. and learning Bash would realy help.

oh one more thing i have know idea what IMHO means
So you want to be a hacker, but are not able to use Google to find a bash tutorial, or the meaning of IMHO?
I don't want to insult you, but if you don't even are able to Google for relevant information, do you really think you will make your way as a hacker?
And you are aware that games are made to be beaten, but real computer systems are made to not be beaten (at least easily)?
