which ports to open for pptp VPN connection

hello,

I'm trying to tunnel to a public PPTP server from my workstation at home (fedora 7).
Unfortunately iptables is still blocking something. I've already opened up ports 1723 tcp and udp for the call manager and permitted all gre traffic outbound and inbound on all interfaces. Are there any more ports I have to open?

thanks

Dominik

P.S.: I know about the security holes in pptp and I would much prefer to use OpenVPN instead, but I don't know of any free OpenVPN servers.

Use the LOG target to see what packets are getting filtered. BTW, what do you mean by "I don't know of any free OpenVPN servers"? OpenVPN is a client/server solution.

EDIT: Oh wait, I think I know what you mean. You mean like "publicly available" OpenVPN servers - right? Could you share with us the reason why you want to VPN out from home?
