Where to find Kernel Panic Log

Good Day;

We had a Kernel Panic on our OpenSuse server yesterday, I need to find the log file which has some information about the Kernel Panic. Which log file should i log into? I think they are in /var/log???

The most useful logs are likely to be /var/log/messages or /var/log/syslog (possibly /var/log/kern.log)

But I think the key thing about a kernel panic is that the OS may no longer be able to write to the disk. I've read things on OSX forums about the kernel writing information to NVRAM which is then logged to disk on reboot, but I don't know if this feature exists in Linux.
