What is glibc bug and who can get affected with it?

Hello Everyone,

Can you please help me to understand the recent glibc bug found by Google? Also what devices can be affected by this and how one can protect from getting hacked with this bug?

What part of it didn't you understand? If you do a little more work with your questions it is more likely that you'll get a reply.
For example if you had cut-n-paste some of the bug description here and mentioning what you didn't understand then someone would have found it easier to reply. People are willing to help but not if you show no initiative at all.

I assume you are referring to the DNS-related glibc bug that has been all over the news for the past month:

This news item should help: https://www.linux.com/community/blog...-know-about-it

Make sure your systems are updated.

Alert was way back July last year. By now, your distribution should already have implemented a patch for the bug, and you should already have updated from their repo, assuming you were making use of your distro's repos.
