welcome to LQ!

spoofing is making something appear as something else which it actually isn't.
for example: mac address spoofing (changing your mac address)
packet spoofing (changing details in tcp/udp packets, such as source ip, source mac...)

it is mainly used to hide ones trailes, eg. when atempting DOS or DDOS attacks. you actually seldom need to spoof when staying in a legal environment, though there are occasions when using such features is helpful, eg. when doing firewall testing, and for those occasions you still have a sending and recieving end.

1. advice: make sure when using any spoofing tools that you are permitted to do, what ever you intend
2. advice: really make sure you have permission to do whatever you have planed.
3. advice: do not do anything you do not have permission to do.

by the way: black hat intentions/actions are not supported on this page... always weare a white hat :-)
