urgent help regarding acl

Hi all,

I am suppose to set up an ftp server for which i m using vsftpd on Red Hat 8.0
I am having few doubts on using acl's. i was recommended that ACL is the solution when the question arises that how do u give the full(rwx) permission to one group on all the folders. Using ACL u can restrict other users/groups and at the same time those users/groups who wants the access will be granted acc.
I have installed ACL & its lib rpm properly , my problem arises when i give setfacl command it shows me "setfacl:test:Function not implemented" message. But when i give setfacl command with --test option then it works... WHY SO???
Which RHL is stable n trsutworthy...RH 8.0 or RH 7.2/7.3???????

WIll bethankful if any one could give me their kind suggestion at the earliest,,,,

Thanx a ton... waiting for the earliest positive reply

I don't think error messages come any clearer. It sez that what you want is not implemented.

Btw, any "recent" RH release should be. It depends mostly on how much care you take of properly setting up, hardening and maintaining it.

Forgot to mention we don't do "urgent" at LQ. If you want "urgent" support, go and buy support from a local Linux guru or consultancy firm. They could use your support.
