I accidentally put SuSE Firewall on a my machine, and I can't seem to access the ftp server on the machine. I uninstalled SuSE Firewall by rpm -e. However, I still can't get to the box.

Here is my netstat -a

tcp 0 0 *:filenet-tms *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:printer *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:swat *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:sunrpc *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:www-http *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:6000 *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:ftp *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:ssh *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:http-rman *:* LISTEN

The ftp server is running. I have gone under Yast2 and turned off the firewall in rc.config. Also I can see the port from other machines. For example

> nc -v 21 [] 21 (ftp) open

ipchains is not compatible with this kernel either.

So why can't I make a connection? Any ideas?
