Tripwire on RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 AS

I recently installed RHEL 3 AS on a test server and now want to install TripWire. There is no TripWire RPM on any of the RedHat install CDs, nor on the RedHat Network. I cannot find documentation on the RedHat site for how to install TripWire on RHEL, only RedHat Linux 9.

Since this is a project for work, if it is impossible (or exceedingly difficult) to install TripWire on RHEL 3 I would like to have some kind of documentation I can show my boss. So my questions are:

Is TripWire compatible with RHEL?
If so: where can I find the RPM and/or instructions?
If not: where is the incompatibility documented?

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Tripwire is technically no longer in development, although it is still a fantastic tool that we use on all our servers. It is not available in an RPM format that is compatible w/ RHEL.

However, a group of developer(s) has started the tripwire-portable project based on the tripwire source code. It seeks to improve upon tripwire and make it more compatable across platforms. The functionality of tripwire-portable is exactly the same across all systems, and it can compile cleanly on most major *nix distros. We are using tripwire-portable on all of our FC3 boxes w/out any problems. Also, the default config/policy files that come w/ tripwire-portable are much simpler and cleaner and can be adapted much more quickly to your enviroment than the default files that come w/ tripwire.

sourceforge.net/projects/tripwire/ released 2.4.0.1 on Dec 1, 2005. I have just installed it on RHEL3 ES you will probably find it usefull to note that you can either rename contrib to install or if you are feeling bored/adventureous(sp?) go through the makefiles, install.sh, and install.cfg to rename all calls to install to contrib......
