I was having tripwire issues - running "tripwire --init", I encountered some errors. I ran out of time fixing it and only now have had a chance to re-examine the issue.

The problem that I'm now having is that I cannot find any of my tripwire files. Running "slocate tripwire" it says that there is an /etc/tripwire" folder, but when I try to "cd /etc/tripwire" it says that no such directory exists.

Furthermore, when i try to edit /etc/tripwire/twpol.txt, it says that i'm editing a new file - which I'm shouldn't be.

Anybody know what i'm doing wrong?

Check your packages contents, then run init again, append "2>&1|tee /tmp.trip.err", examine the trip.err file and post the errors.
