trigger an email when find new MAC
 
hello,
i have a linux machine which act as a gateway. i want to trace any new machine plug into my network immediately. do you have any solution that can sniff the new MAC addr and then email the packet to the administrator email box?

Yes. You're describing arpwatch perfectly. It's not installed by default on most OSs, but it exists as a package for quite a few of them.
