Welocome to LQ. I must admit that you have posted a rather interesting introductory post.

To give you an honest answer, the security forum here is, in my humble opinion, THE best security discussion forum for practical information. There are two primary reasons for this. First and foremost, unlike many other forums, LQSEC takes a pragmatic fact based approach by gathering evidence and performing an analysis before reaching any conclusions. Many forums simply take the 'wipe and re-install' approach which this forum does not. Second, there are several very knowledgeable regulars here in this forum that willingly give of their time to help with these investigations. These users are familiar with the finer, lesser known, details of Linux that are critical to determining if a machine has in fact been compromised.

My second pick for quality technical forums would be tek-tips.com, which is not just a Linux forum but hosts a rather wide variety of topics. This forum has sections dedicated to applications like Bind, Apache, and VPN software and this lets you target in on a very specific subject. When it comes to Windows and windows mal-ware, this forum is the absolute best I have seen and the regulars can often times tell you what exactly is wrong with your PC from a hijack this log.
