Tivoli Backup Software

Hello everyone,

First of all my best wishes.

The thing I want to do:

We have tivoli backup software to backup files/directories on my linux servers. Normally this runs under the root user. Now I would like it to run under a user called 'tivoli'. The problem is that that user needs access to all folders and files...so it can back them up. Same with restore, it needs that rights to put files back.

Can I use sudo? Do I need to launch the Tivoli agent as the tivoli user with root privilleges by using the sudo command? Will this work?
Can I use sudo in the startup script? (Runlevels 2,3,5)

Kr
Karel.
