talkd question

Hello everyone.

Has anyone ever seen the following msg in the syslog?

Jan 30 14:55:18 plasma talkd[382]: 127.0.0.1 (127.0.0.1): unintelligible packet

This appeared after i took down inetd, and blanked all stuff in /etc/inetd.conf .... since i have no wish to use it.

Anyone know what it's on about?

Cheers

Duncan

Maybe someone trying to break/scan talkd? Dunno. If you don't need talkd, remove it, If you do need it and your talkd supports -d (debug) and/or -p (packetlog) options, try that.
