strange ip

just for fun I nmap'd my personal network and found a few things I couldn't explain

my network is 192.168.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0

but I found something at 192.168.86.46 and 192.168.86.63

.63 all ports are closed or filtered
and .46 all ports are closed

I can ping these two addresses, but my arp table doesn't show a MAC address for either address.

I do have a wireless router, so I thought they might be some wireless device, but I can't imagine what.

Anyone have any ideas?

is there any traffic going to them? Use ethereal or similar device to do a network capture and have a look at the traffic.

Also, you mention strange IP addresses and a wireless router - you're using encryption on your wireless right? If not, anyone can just walk up and connect (and hence get an IP address)...

cheers
