Question Stale NFS mount /tmp/1


have two redhat systems giving:
/etc/cron.daily/tmpwatch:

error: failed to lstat /tmp/1: Stale NFS file handle
ls -l /tmp
total 24
.
.
.
srwxr-xr-x 1 root root 0 Feb 24 14:11 mapping-root
drwx------ 2 jk jk 4096 Mar 6 16:41 orbit-jk
drwx------ 2 jk jk 4096 Mar 6 15:01 ssh-pIozxq3542
?--------- ? ? ? ? ? /tmp/1

Any ideas anyone...

"Stale NFS file handle" means the file was already gone on the server (renamed, deleted, no longer exported, unreachable, you get the point) before the process on the client got to it.
