SSL-0.9.7d problems using Sylpheed-0.9.12

Hey guys,

Due to some reason I can't connect to any POP3 and SMTP server
with 'using SSL' enabled. Impossible to say more, sylpheed is not very
talkative.
I'm not very familiar with security things, so don't know what is wrong.

Do I need some kind of public/private keys to be generated when using SSL?
I'm using PSI Jabber client with SSL enabled and it works perfectly.

thanks 4 your help

:/

The reason you cant connect is the servers dont have ssl enabled on thier side.

those servers' admin claims there is SSL enabled...
I installed openssl as usual (./configure; make; make install -- or sth like this).
Do you think I need to do something more to get it work?
