Question SSH Recommendations

I am looking for a good recommendation of a good SSH. My main focus is for security and something which is difficult to hack into.

Also I am using VNC for my for my windows boxes. If you are using something better once again security is my main focus, I am interested in hearing about it.

Thanks!

"A good SSH"? For linux, I always use OpenSSH, but no software is ever perfect - you will need to keep an eye out for updates. For a client on Windows I recommend the PuTTY tools.

VNC is not very secure at all, but you can tunnel it through SSH to encrypt the entire connection. If the VNC server is running on windows, you can install the Cygwin suite to get an SSH server for this.

There are a couple of HOW-TOs on running sshd as a service on Windows by using Cygwin. You can actually have it register as a service and start a boot time, etc...

FWIW, if you only want Opensshd on Wintendo you don't need to load the whole Cygwin environment. See http://sshwindows.sourceforge.net/ (formerly lexa.mckenna.edu). Don't forget to disable any users that should not have access like local administrative and system accounts.
