snort on redhat 8

hello, i am trying to install acid on a redhat 8.0 box. i have had snort working in the past on redhat 7.3, but needed a faster computer to run acid and my hardware wasnt supported by 7.3. i am trying to use as many defaults as possable. i am using the apache rpms that came with the default install along with the php rpm's. i have added php-mysql rpm and installed mysql from downloaded rpm's. i have downloaded adodb and phplot. i have tested phplot and it seems to work fine. i think my problem is in the adodb. my database is created and fine, i can access the localhost/acid/index.html and it pops me to the php pages about continuing to configure acid by adding the acid_ag tables to my snort db. but when i click on create_ag button, it seems to load something, but comes right back saying done and it didnt do anything. it wont add my acid tables to my snort db. any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated!

Any error messages to go with this?
Checked out the ACID FAQ: http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~rdanyliw/snort/acid_faq.html ?

no, no error messages. it says "loaded in 1 second" and then comes back with the same screen as before you hit the buton without the "added 'so and so' table" i tried to run the adodb test.php and it would fail. i added rights to the root user and it then would run the test.php but blew away my passwords to all my users root included. if i get test.php to work i do get error messages about access denied when i then try to config acid. i think i have just made it worse lol. but i can go back in and reset my passwords to get back to square one.

Jeff, I think you'll have more luck if you subscribe to the snort-users mailinglist. They are known to be helpfull and have answered questions about ACID for the past 2 years. If you first want to search the archives, check 'em out at http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/ or http://www.neohapsis.com.
