I recommend checking out the Advanced Bash Scripting Guide, which explains that and more.
You can find it at: http://www.tldp.org/LDP/abs/html/

manya,

Please do not report your own posts or threads to speed up the replies for answers or solutions. That is not the reason we have the report feature on this site. The listed reasons are listed in BOLD RED LETTERING on the report this post submission page which says:

"This form is to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts. It can also be used to report multiple posts or any post you feel is in violation of the rules."

Basically only report a post when you see a rule being broken. This is a free site where members come and ask questions for free and other members will answer your questions in their own free time. We do not place a priority over any members particular question or issue. You might get a response in a matter of minutes, hours, days, weeks, years or never.

Also your actual question looks like a type of homework question. Read our rules in regards to homework question asking, you should never expect answers in such situations. You will learn more if you research and do it yourself, not relying on others to give you direct answers.

Regards.
